![]() ![]() In my opinion, if the book had been given a chance to explain the key aspects a bit more, it had the potential to be very interesting, but there just wasn't enough substance to make you believe that anything in the book could ever happen. About the Book Mixing the wit of the Princess Diaries books with a supernatural twist on Arthurian legend, this wildly entertaining, 1 national bestseller. All in all, the twist ending seemed a bit unnecessary and over the top to me.Īvalon High is the modern day equivalent to Arthurian legend and although I'm not an expert, I don't think that it did it justice. I felt that the ending was a bit rushed, the critical turning point happening about three pages before the end, meaning that some of the insignificant bits earlier in the book could have contributed to the crucial ending that seemed to be over before it had begun. I guess I was expecting Cabot to go into a bit more detail of who Arthur, Lancelot and so on were, but it seemed quite bare, like she just wanted to focus on Will and Ellie, in which case I don't think there was much point in adding in the historical aspects. However, it's not your average love story, as Will tells Ellie "I feel we've met before in a different lifetime." As it turns out, the characters in the story are all reincarnations of King Arthur and other residents of Camelot come back to present day. The story revolves around Ellie Harrison, a new student to Avalon High, which is pretty much what she was expecting, aside from, of course, gorgeous boy Will. ![]()
